![]() ![]() ![]() The new device actually requires 16 digit code and 8 digit code is only part of the actual code that is needed for Note 9. After researching this for days I finally learnt that the Note 9 device will not unlock with regular 8 digit code we get from AT&T. AT&T processed a warranty claim and sent me a new device, but after going through the same process and getting a new code for new device it still did not work. I learned this hard way after permanently locking my device to the network. They will provide you a 8 digit code after successful request, but the code will not work on your phone. For those of you who bought an AT&T version of Note 9 and want to unlock the device, the usual process of requesting the unlock code on ATT website is not working.
